Salix acutifolia "Blue Streak" has a unique, waxy white bloom on its mature rods and a graceful, elongated leaf. It is nice for accents in basketry, although the plants aren’t generous producers of rods. It is good for living fences, however, since this can make it easier to manage. Adding to its beauty in the landscape, it produces plentiful smaller catkins on dark, reddish-brown stems. In spring and summer, the frosty looking rods and graceful, elongated leaves remind one of bamboo. One of our favorites.
